The Biggest Mistake You Can Make in Your Business!

It doesn't matter if you been in business for 20 years or just starting out, as a business owner there are decisions to make everyday. And as a business owner those decisions can either help grow our customers or loose them. This issue for many people can be an ongoing self battle that can cause stress to yourself, your staff, your family, and ultimately your business.

When it comes to making mistakes, there is one that tops the cake for everyone- MARKETING!

Whether you are starting out or growing your business, there is one critical thing that is needed to survive and the is- CUSTOMERS! As a business owner running your business is the main priority, but since you are wearing the owner "hat", the resources of marketing can be one of the most important things you can do to help keep your business afloat or even grow.

You have to think about it as a pipeline or funnel.

You are NOT Marketing for Today ---- You are Marketing for Tomorrow.

6 months out in FACT!

It doesn't matter if you are in the slow season or full of clients, you are marketing for the future. Why do you think it takes a while for a new business to start seeing profit? Because all those marketing and advertising concepts you did months ago are just now starting to pay off.

One of the biggest mistakes a business can make it slowing or stopping their marketing plans. You never know what is going to happen four months from now. You may loose every single customer you have, but you have hope for the future because you never stopped marketing and getting your name out to potential clients.

Some Marketing Tips to Consider:

1. Make a Year Marketing Plan- Break it out to weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual marketing strategies that you want to do through the year. Whether this includes a weekly blog, a monthly newsletter, a quarterly promotion, do whatever it takes to keep your name in the community and your potential client list full.

2. Network-There are alot of people who don't like to network. But this age old tradition is still a great way to get your name and brand in the community. Join the local chamber, go to local events, conference, and expo's. Make sure that you are know.

3. Be Omnipresent- You want to make sure you are dominating the local market. I suggest letting the local businesses and residents in a 5-mile radius to know who you are and what you can bring to the table. Be the name on their lips when something ask for a referral.

No matter what marketing plan you have, make sure that you create and implement it constantly. Being Consistent will be the key to your success.
